Desktop PC: types and characteristics

Time has made more and more PC models on the market available to buyers. There is no longer a single model, but we have different models adapted to each of the needs.

The types of  PCs that you can find today are for example:

Lounge PC: Also known as HTPC, or home theater PC or media center. It is used to play all kinds of multimedia content, you can install it in your living room or in your bedroom to watch movies before going to sleep.
PC AIO, or All in One: It is a type of PC that will be very fashionable in the coming years. Its main feature is that the monitor and the CPU are integrated with the same box.
Tablet PC: It is a tablet that runs a Windows operating system. In other words, a portable PC with a touch screen.
Ultrabook: The last to arrive. They appear on the market thanks to Intel and their main idea is to create ultrathin and light notebooks that compete with Mac Book Air.
Netbook: Its difference with ultrabooks is that you are looking for a reduced price instead of high performance.

What is a desktop PC?

Also known as a desktop or desktop computer. It is the most common and oldest model of PC that has existed on the market. Its elements, unlike the other models, are separated and intended to be used on a table or desk and not be moved.

We have, therefore, on the one hand, the keyboard, on the other the screen and the cabinet or box where the motherboard and internal components are located.

What needs can it cover?

It is the all-terrain computer in a house. It serves almost everything, except for those tasks that require mobility.

Ideal for the office, for children to study and play without the power limitations that all notebooks have.

Why not use a desktop PC?

As I have already mentioned, its biggest defect is mobility. If you are one of those who like to carry the PC in tow, it is not the right equipment.

Its size, larger than the other models, can make it not adapt for example to your little ones' room or that it simply does not fit in your living room.

They are also usually noisier equipment than laptops, which also limits the places where it can be used.

How is the ideal desktop PC?

Especially powerful. In these teams we do not want to reduce energy consumption or increase the duration of the batteries, therefore we should not encounter any problem to achieve higher speeds.

A screen or several of an acceptable size, the configuration that is more and more common every day, always helps.

What are the most common parts of a desktop PC?

As I already mentioned, the most common parts are:

Keyboard — It is in charge of taking the texts from the user to the PC.
Mouse — Very useful since modern operating systems became popular.
Screen — That shows us visual information.
CPU— Where all the internal components are located. There are different sizes to adapt to different situations.
